The couple admitted they did not report after allegations of sexual abuse against the school’s former football coach.
HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. Two former Tri-West High School employees admit they made a mistake in failing to report the allegations of sexual abuse against the school’s former football coach.
Nathan Begle, the school’s former athletic director, and his wife Stacy Begle, who was the dean of the students, struck a deal with the state before their case went to trial. As part of the deal, the couple admitted to failing to report the abuse.

The agreement also included three mandatory conditions:
The couple cannot commit or be convicted of any crime. The couple must still be employed, or pursue studies or training that will prepare them for employment. The couple should notify the prosecutor’s office of any change of address or employment.
If these conditions are met for 12 months, the charges against them will be dropped.
The North West Hendricks School Corporation terminated the contracts of the two directors in September 2020 after their administrative leave in February.
The Education Department said the couple, along with former manager Adam Benner, were aware of accusations that former Tri-West football coach Tyler Bruce had improper contact with a student, but had not reported them.
Bruce was ultimately charged with seducing children and obstructing justice. He struck a plea deal in May. He was sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to attempting to obstruct justice.
Benner quit the school and was later charged with failing to report it. His case is still pending.
