BKFC 19: Rachael Ostovich stops harsh criticism It was already 10 years too late

Rachael Ostovich, like her longtime rival Paige VanZant, turned her success in combat sports into a paid modeling career on her own official website. So why is the former UFC strawweight risking his lucrative appearance to participate in hand-to-hand boxing?

Because Ostovich is above all a fighter.

If I really cared about my face, I wouldn’t even be in MMA. So it was already 10 years too late, Ostovich told MMA Fighting. We are first and foremost combatants. It’s not so bad. I know people like to think it does, but it’s really not that big of a deal. We are fighters. It’s just funny how people are. People always have something to say.

That sentiment was echoed by VanZant, who faces Ostovich in the headliner of BKFC 19 this Friday night (July 23) in Tampa. 12 Gauge recently told the combat sports media that any damage she suffered inside the ring could possibly be repaired with plastic surgery.

A fatality, based on Ostovich’s latest screening report.

I felt like I was the best forward in our last fight, Ostovich continued. I got into this fight, I had a broken orbital before this fight, so I wasn’t trying to stay with her, so I kept knocking her down. There was a lot of wrestling there. When I think back to my fight with her, I wish I could stand up more. I’m excited for this boxing match because it’s just standing.

Ostovich split from the UFC after losing three straight and finishing in three losses, which includes losing to VanZant at UFC Fight Night 143. 12 Gauge joined the glove-less promotion last February , but fell to Britain Hart by decision.

I never thought I’d be part of the promotion for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, Ostovich said. I really didn’t think I would ever do that, but they gave me Paige and I wanted that rematch, so I’ll take it any way I can get it. Money speaks.
