MOUNT LAUREL, New Jersey (WPVI) – A New Jersey woman faces charges of intimidation, harassment and assault after her tirade of racist slurs was filmed at a Mount Laurel hotel.

Police said Elizabeth Trzeciak, 46, of South River, NJ, was not a guest at a Super 8 hotel, but was staying at a nearby hotel.

But she showed up at reception around 12:30 am Monday, shouting at the front desk clerk and using the n word several times.

“Listen, you *****, call me, black man. Call me,” she shouts.

About 30 seconds after the start of the recording, she throws an artificial plant and a container of disinfectant before running away.

The man recording the video is a 21-year-old employee.

“I knew when I saw this video that it was going to go viral because the behavior is so appalling,” said Michelle Banfe, vice president of operations for Delco Development, owner of the Mount Laurel Super 8.

Mount Laurel Police said initially Trzeciak, who was staying at a nearby hotel, appeared to be intoxicated and was handed over to a family member.

But when the video later surfaced, police charged her with intimidation, simple assault and harassment.

“Upon receipt, I took quick action,” Banfe said. “We went to the police, we went to the prosecutors and we called the mayor.”

Officials say the employee has worked at the hotel for three years and was shocked by the encounter.

“The hospitality, the hotels, the restaurants, we are all together all the time. And to see someone come into our house and treat our family like that is devastating,” Super 8 general manager Joe Pergine said.

This incident follows another incident of bias earlier this month, also in Mount Laurel.

Protesters showed up at the home of Edward Cagney Matthews, who was arrested after a racist tirade against a neighbor was filmed.

We spoke to residents who are fed up with seeing both incidents.

“Racism isn’t something people are born with. It is learned. So it’s just sad. I don’t know. When is it going to end?” said Aletheia Johnson of Mount Laurel.

Trzeciak first appeared in court on Thursday.

She will remain in custody until her detention hearing Tuesday morning in Burlington County Superior Court.
