The former Trump press secretary details his mysterious visit to the hospital in 2019 in a behind-the-scenes look at his White House

Grisham served as White House Press Secretary, Melania Trump’s chief of staff and East Wing communications director during the Trump administration, before resigning after the Jan. 6 uprising at the Capitol. In her book, “I’ll Get Your Questions Now,” which was acquired by CNN, Grisham gives a personal description of her time in the White House and describes a culture of lying to the Trump administration.
In the book, Grisham does not use the term colonoscopy, but largely implies this journey. He said Trump’s visit to the hospital, which sparked weeks of speculation about his health, was a “very common procedure” in which “a patient is referred”. He also writes that former President George W. Bush had a similar process while in power. Bush had multiple colonoscopies during his time at the office. Grisham writes that Trump did not want then-Vice President Mike Pence to be in power while he was calm, which was part of the reason he kept his visit private. Also, “he did not want the joke to happen” on TV late at night, Grisham writes.

The episode is just one of many revelations of Grisham behind the scenes, who was one of Trump’s longest-serving employees and witnessed many moments of the Trump administration.

Grisham started working for then-candidate Donald Trump in 2015 as a big guy in the election campaign. She entered the White House as Deputy Spokeswoman under Sean Spicer, but in March 2017, Melania Trump hired her for her staff at East Wing. As East Wing’s communications director, Grisham quickly became the first lady’s most prominent employee.

Ever since she resigned after the uprising on 6 January, Grisham stayed mostly away from the limelight. He now lives in Kansas, where he spent the last few months writing this book, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.

In a statement to CNN, Trump said: “It is a pity that bag issuers continue to report this very boring rubbish. We and the MAGA movement are completely used to it. And one day in the not too distant future we will have our voices back and to be treated fairly by the press “.

His spokeswoman, Liz Harrington, added: “This book is another pathetic attempt to cash in on the President and sell lies to the Trump family.”

CNN contacted Melania Trump’s office to comment on Grisham’s book.

In a statement to The Washington Post, which quoted details from the book Tuesday morning, Melania Trump’s office broke out Grisham.

“The intent behind this book is clear,” Melania Trump’s office told the Post. “It’s an attempt to ransom him after a bad appearance as a press secretary, failed personal relationships and unprofessional behavior in the White House. Through lies and betrayal, he seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump.”

“Well, it was uncomfortable”

Grisham details the turbulent period following the revelation of Trump’s alleged relationship with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougall, describing Melania Trump’s “anger” and her efforts to distance herself from her husband. Grisham says public humiliation has turned Melania Trump into a bold first lady.

“After the Stormy Daniels story broke and all the allegations made by other women broke out, I felt that Mrs. Trump was effectively released,” Grisham wrote. “Always was always independent of her husband, but now, as an unjust and humiliated public first lady, she seemed free to do what she wanted or did not want to do.”

Grisham also faced a humiliating episode following the news of Daniels. The then President called Grisham from Air Force One to say that his manhood, which Daniels had described in detail in an interview, was “fine”.

“Everything down there is fine,” he said. “” Fine, “he repeated.” “Yes, sir,” I replied. “Well, that was inconvenient.”

Grisham writes that Trump once asked her then-boyfriend, who was also Trump’s assistant, if she was good in bed. He also claims that Trump would constantly ask where a young female press assistant was at press events and allegedly once asked for an assistant to be transferred to his cabin in Air Force One so that he could “look at her”. The former press secretary also hides one of the biggest mysteries of Trump’s public image: His hair.

Grisham says Trump cuts it himself, “with a huge pair of scissors that could probably cut a ribbon when opening a property.”

Interactions with Putin

Grisham also cites some of the interactions between the former president and one of the mainstays of his presidency: Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

According to Grisham, Trump told Russian President Vladimir Putin that he would act tougher on him when the cameras were turned during the G20 summit in 2019.

“Okay, I’m going to work a little harder with you for a few minutes. But it’s about the cameras, and once they’re gone, we’ll talk. You understand,” Trump told Putin when they met on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.

Grisham also writes about Trump’s outbursts and rage, which he often targeted, describing his behavior as “scary.”

“When I began to see that his composure was not just about the value of the shock or the cameras, I began to regret my decision to go to the West Wing,” writes Grisham, who says much of Trump’s anger was often directed at White. Home counselor Pat Cipollone. “He did not like being told that the things he wanted to do were immoral or illegal. That’s how he called them. But then he usually listened to them. And then he called them again later.”
