The General SVR Telegram channel, purportedly run by a Kremlin insider, reported the heated exchange between the leaders which did “not go as smoothly as it might appear”. Frustrated at the lack of progress, Putin reportedly left the room, loudly saying to those waiting: “Explain to this stupid lot … that he will not leave here.”
General SVR added: “According to eyewitnesses, the threat was uttered so convincingly and loudly that it was heard by the people waiting for the end of the negotiations, of which there were about a dozen, and the guards, and Lukashenko himself.”
President Lukashenko then “tearfully” asked to keep communication open with the Russian president, making a promise that Belarusian troops would join the “special military operation” in Ukraine.
It comes Belarus has sent up to 20 railcars with ammunition to Russia for the war in Ukraine, according to the general staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
