Vladimir Putin: Russian lawmaker claims leader is preparing to attack another country

Yevgeny Prigozhinfailed rebellion led to a number of consequences both inside and outside Russia.

Experts agree on this weakened Vladimir Putin who is now reportedly resorting to body doubles for fear that someone might try to kill him and in fact could soon be stripped of his top role by his inner circle.

While disgraced Yevgeny Prigozhinis missing and may have been treated from the Kremlin leader and his entourage who allegedly wished for nothing more than pike-headed warlords, many Wagner fighters ended up in Belarus sparking fears that NATO’s borders could be attacked.

The presence of serial killers in Wagner’s loose mercenaries forced Poland to develop additional security on its eastern border.

And obviously, Warsaw’s instincts were right.

A lawmaker who took part in a debate on Russian state television claims that Vladimir Putin ordered the mass relocation of Wagner fighters to Belarus to prepare for an attack on Poland.

Here’s what we know.

Russia is reportedly preparing to attack Poland

Russian MP Andrei Kartapolov made a disturbing statement during a recent appearance on Russia-1‘small Evening with Vladimir Solovyov projection: Wagner forces may be preparing for a new attack on Poland.

Since the latter is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), this would mean a conflict with the entire alliance.

Although Kartapolov’s claims could not be verified and neither Putin nor Wagner’s leader have indicated their intention to invade Poland, Warsaw wasted no time in moving additional troops and additional equipment to its borders.

Kartapolov suggested the mercenaries they were there to train Belorussian soldiers for a possible attack on Poland and capture of the strategically important Suwaki Gap – a small but crucial piece of land that could see Poland cut off from its western neighbors if captured by the enemy. It offers the only land link between NATO and the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Kartapolov said:

If something happens, we really need that Suwaki corridor.

The Ministry of Defense will find out what they gave and what they got. I’m not talking about that, I’m talking about the fact that a strike force is ready to take that little corridor within hours.

Should NATO be concerned about threats from Belarus?

Although Vladimir Solovyov tried to downplay Kartapolov’s comments by saying that the Wagner group handed over equipment to Russian authorities before leaving the country, mercenaries entering Poland uninvited are something Poland and NATO consider a real threat.

Would Wagner launch an attack at the request of Vladimir Putin, would trigger a NATO response under Article 5 of the alliancewhich states that an attack on a NATO country will be treated as an attack against all members of the coalition.

Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak he said:

Over 1,000 soldiers and nearly 200 equipment units of the 12th and 17th Motorized Brigades begin moving to the east of the country as part of Operation Safe Podlasie.

He added that it was a demonstration of his countries readiness to respond to destabilization attempts near the border.
