Russian President Vladimir Putin had a rather unusual meeting while hosting his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in the city of Kronstadt. In a video that is going viral online, the 65-year-old posed for a picture with a newlywed couple after the bride asked them to click a picture together.

The now-viral video shows Putin and Lukashenko greeting a crowd near Kronstadt’s Naval Cathedral. The Russian leader was smiling as he obliged the pair.
Posted by Russian state-controlled news channel RT, the caption read: During a visit to Kronstadt, Putin had a strange encounter. Among the people who wanted to be photographed with the president was a bride.
The video caused quite a reaction from netizens. One user commented that it was so nice that I got a chance to click a photo with the Russian president.
Sharing the video, a Twitter user called the bride lucky to click with two presidents. The bride, seeing Vladimir Putin, turned out to be more determined than the groom and asked the President of Russia to take a photo,” the caption read.
Another user wrote, Blessed bride. I can’t blame her President Putin is a strong, courageous, handsome, fearless leader, who continues to demonstrate outstanding leadership for Russia and illuminates the future of the government that should be. Great opportunity to remember such a special day Moscow, Russia has great leadership with President Putin.
A third user remarked on Putin’s popularity.
However, not everyone was amused by the video. One user wrote, “Yes, that’s what I want on my wedding day. A photo with a war criminal.”
In the midst of Russia’s war with Ukraine, one user compared Putin to Zelensky, saying, Copy Zelensky all you want. Anyone can see that it is not natural for Putin to behave like this. It’s obviously propaganda. While Zelensky is genuine, your zar is fake.
Putin met his closest ally, Lukashenko, for the first time since the latter helped broker a deal to end the Wagner insurgency inside Russia. Putin, after the rare parade, said on Sunday that his talks with the Belarusian leader would last two days. Asked about Putin’s quarantine rules since the pandemic, he said: “People are more important than quarantine.”
