British men’s football adds 9 newcomers to 2021 roster

Links to History LEXINGTON, Ky. The 14th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats are set to start the 2021 season with a reshuffled squad.

Tenth-year head coach Johan Cedergren on Friday announced the signing of nine new players, including four freshmen and five college students, to join 17 comebacks from last season’s 12-5-2 squad that clinched last season. the program’s third appearance in the NCAA Championship Round. 16.

Rodrigues is set to make his second NCAA Division I stop with his third collegiate team overall. Starting out at NAIA’s Benedictine College (Kan.), Rodrigues was most recently an All-Summit League second-team defender at Oral Roberts. The 6-1 São Paulo native will wear the No.3 on the Kentucky backline.

Hoffelner joins junior redshirt Ryan Troutman as the only goaltender on Kentucky’s roster. The 6-3 product from Langen, Germany started his college journey at the Presbyterian, but has spent the last two seasons in St. John’s. The 2019 Big East Co-Goalkeeper of the Year will wear number 1 between the posts.
