6PR broadcaster Oliver Peterson said that when the two met for the first time since the inauguration of the US president, it remains to be seen whether Chinese President Xi Jinping “really listens” to Joe Biden’s speech.
The “Sydney Morning Herald” reported that Mr. Biden will confront Xi Jinping on China’s economic coercion against Australia and other countries in a face-to-face video conference.
“He will really listen to Joe Biden. Will I follow the rules?”
“To be honest, I won’t put our eggs in Joe Biden’s basket,” Mr. Peterson told Sky News host Jenna Clark.
“But at least Xi Jinping will accept his interview, or meet with him-this is the beginning.”
