Meanwhile, Mohamed Abdula Ali, 35, appeared in provincial court by phone from a correctional facility on Tuesday morning. He’s charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

He’s scheduled to appear at the Court at Queen’s Bench on June 13 for a bail hearing.

Ali and Ouellet-Gendron are charged in connection with a homicide that happened on May 19 in the Nutana neighborhood.

Police got reports about gunfire and an injured man in the 100 block of Main Street around 4:30 pm CST.

There were additional calls about shots fired in the 700 block of Melrose Avenue, close to the 100 block of Main, shortly after.
