Chinese President Xi Jinping has reportedly sent a letter to Vladimir Putin asking him to detail his proposals on how to end the war in Ukraine. On Wednesday, Dmitry Medvedev, vice-chairman of Russia’s Security Council, met with the Chinese president.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said in a video statement that he and Xi discussed a range of topics, including the “Ukrainian conflict”. Medvedev did not elaborate.

It is now claimed that he traveled to China to collect the letter.

China has refused to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and has criticized sanctions on Moscow.

Beijing only called the invasion a “Ukrainian situation” to respect Moscow, and accused the United States and NATO of provoking Putin by expanding into Eastern Europe.

In November, Russian Air Force Tu-95 bombers and Chinese H-6K bombers conducted joint patrols in the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea.

Russian bombers landed in China for the first time as part of the exercise, and Chinese bombers flew to a Russian air base.

In September, China sent more than 2,000 soldiers, more than 300 military vehicles, 21 fighter jets and 3 warships to participate in a large-scale Sino-Russian joint exercise.
