Fulbright International Student Program 2024 | Call for applications | Closing: March 31, 2023.

The US Mission is now accepting applications for the 2024 Fulbright Foreign Student Program. This program provides grants to pursue academic, non-academic, or research programs in the United States. Although typical exchanges are with universities, applicants who are affiliated with other educational, cultural, or professional institutions may apply.

Eligibility criteria

Successful candidates for this program must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be Ugandan citizens.
• Possess at least a bachelor’s degree.
• Have a minimum of three years of teaching or working experience after your bachelor’s degree and be committed to returning to work in Uganda upon completion of their program.
• Be fluent in English.
• Have outstanding academic records, credentials, and preparation in their chosen field.
• Have satisfactory results on the required tests (final applicants will be required to take the GRE or GMAT, TOEFL after the screening and interview stage).
• Have high motivation and a serious commitment to complete the program within a specific timeframe and return home.
• Applications should detail the specific area of ​​the candidate in which they wish to emphasize the discipline as a whole.
• Candidates wishing to pursue a Ph.D. must detail their intended area of ​​research and be prepared to submit a written sample.

The application form can be found and must be submitted online at https://apply.iie.org/ffsp2024/

Please enter, upload and submit all required information and documents in your online application before the application deadline. This includes copies of certificates, transcripts and letters of recommendation. Please do not email, post or hand-deliver documents to our office.

Candidates can attach test score reports if they have already taken the tests. Applications are reviewed by a selection panel. Final nominations are reviewed in the United States and selections are made by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. While applicants may suggest where they would like to study in the United States, the ultimate institutional placement for successful applicants is conducted by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted after review of applications.

The application deadline is March 31, 2023.
