Community Health and Wellbeing Grant launched to support community projects — Tewkesbury Borough Council

Community groups are encouraged to develop new or existing projects to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the Borough of Tewkesbury, thanks to a new Community Health and Wellbeing grant.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available from Tewkesbury Borough Council to support activities focused on improving physical and mental wellbeing, promoting healthy lifestyles or building strong communities for the future .

The grant is open to not-for-profit organizations working with communities in the Borough of Tewkesbury, including registered charities, town and parish councils and incorporated community groups.

Projects that facilitate broader participation in community activities, focus on health and well-being, or create or improve community spaces will be prioritized.

Tewkesbury Borough Council Community and Economic Development Manager Andy Sanders said: “We recognize the importance that community groups play in supporting mental and physical health in their community. We really encourage groups to apply for this funding to enable them to provide activities that improve health and well-being in their neighborhood.

“This new grant could help fund a range of projects, including outdoor activities for young people during the summer holidays, a village bench to encourage older residents to take walks and help with rental costs. of a venue for a community singing group – and groups are encouraged to apply.

Applications can be made online through the council’s website. Grants must be spent within six months of receiving the award and can cover most costs associated with a project. Typically, these include equipment and resources, advertising and marketing, training costs, room rental, or IT-related costs.
