President Joe Biden fell on stage during the US Air Force Academy graduation ceremony in Colorado on Thursday.
Biden, who delivered the commencement address and began shaking hands with graduates, fell near the podium and was quickly helped by those around him to his feet.
Biden, 80, walked away unaided once he straightened up. He continued to stand and greet people for the rest of the ceremony.
Biden appeared to trip over a black sandbag, according to poolside reporters traveling with the president, and pointed to it after standing up.
“He’s fine. There was a sandbag on stage as he shook hands,” tweeted White House communications director Ben LaBolt as videos of the incident circulated online.

Earlier, addressing the graduates, Biden celebrated their work as he laid out the challenges ahead.
“We have the best army in the history of the world,” he said. “And you have earned it. Today is the day to celebrate. And as your Commander-in-Chief, I am honored to be here.”
