According to the latest figures from the British government, a further 5,683 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
The figures also show that one person died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, according to the Department of Health.
Monday’s figures bring the number of coronavirus deaths in the UK to 127,841.
Separate figures released by UK statistical agencies show there have been over 153,000 deaths recorded in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 4,522,476 coronavirus infections in the UK.

Monday’s figures come as English adults aged 25 to 29 will be able to reserve their Covid-19 vaccine from Tuesday, the Health Secretary said.
Matt Hancock told MPs the vaccine remains the best way out of the pandemic as doubts mount over the June 21 target for ending all restrictions in England.
Those under 30 are the last cohort on the list of priority vaccines.
Here’s what the Covid situation looks like in the four countries:
England
In England, 4,913 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 3,944,955.
Meanwhile, local authorities have not reported any new deaths within 28 days of a positive Covid test.
The death toll from coronaviruses in England is 112,440.
Scotland
Scottish health authorities reported an additional 641 positive tests in one day, bringing the total infections to 241,169 since the start of the pandemic.
No further deaths have been reported in Scotland, meaning the death toll remains at 7,667.
Wales
In Wales, another 75 infections have been reported. The country has recorded a total of 213,166 Covid-19 infections since the start of the pandemic.
In terms of Covid deaths, one death has been reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 5,570.
North Ireland
There have been 54 other cases of the coronavirus reported in Northern Ireland, which has an infection total of 123,186.
Meanwhile, no other deaths have been reported by authorities. The nation has a Covid death toll of 2,154.
