The man who slapped French President Emmanuel Macron this week was sentenced to four months in prison, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

The French court ruling comes two days after the man hit Macron during a campaign stop in Drôme, south-eastern France. The man had shouted in French: “Down with Macronie!”

Video of the altercation on Twitter showed Macron’s security team tackling the man to the ground and pulling the president away from the crowd.

BBC reported wednesday that investigators found a copy of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” in the man’s house, along with weapons, including a sword, dagger and “collector’s rifle”.
