What is interesting is how politics is played. Just a few years ago, Modi cancelled all Dalai Lama activities in order to appease the Chinese leader. On the coast of Chennai, Xi and Modi enjoyed a comfortable private dinner in the dances and tunes of Indian classical music against the backdrop of the soft sound of the Indian Ocean waves. Both Modi and Xi Jinping believe that this summit is very productive and constructive. But as soon as Xi Jinping flew over the Himalayas, his promise was like the tissue he used in Indian soil. Modi flew back to Delhi, combing his gray moustache, pondering, feeling relieved about the promise Xi Jinping had made.
However, in just a few months, when Modi was caught off guard by his complacency and the newly established illusion of trust, and when the Chinese army brazenly ambushed the Indians, the empty promise castle collapsed, and the gates were lethal. The battle for heaven. The unapologetic Xi watched and stood silently, while Modi supported him after falling into a panic attack. India was stabbed in the back by the Chinese again, just as they did in 1962. Overnight, India fell into a war without warning in the corridors on the roof of the world.
A few years later, in the days of neglecting all Tibet-related incidents and appeasement of China, when tensions on the occupied Tibetan border in Indochina increased, and when India found out that he was surrounded, Modi quietly woke up and made plans. , Ready to play Tibet card. The precursor of all this is the first private call made by the current Prime Minister of India. This is the first call that Modis has been in office for a long time, wishing His Holiness 86th birthday.
This was a well-intentioned move, which was widely welcomed by the hype and cautious optimism of Tibetans all over the world. Now is the time for Modi to stand up and admit once and for all that Tibet is an independent country. A U.S. senator has set a priority, which is sure to be all the rage given the strong support of the two parties for the cause of Tibet. Unlike in the 1950s, Nehru may have buried his conscience in a closet, swept Tibet’s legal status in the world under the carpet of political conspiracy, and sacrificed Tibet on the altar of geopolitical interests.
It is indeed sad that India is paying a huge price for Nehrus’ mistakes in handling the China and Tibet issues. Nehrus’ two well-known consultants in Krishnamurti and Panika should also be accused of planning this heavy blow policy that led to the catastrophic death and destruction of Tibet.
Fast forward to 2021, and the times have changed drastically. India is no longer the India of the 1950s. Modi can easily use Xi Jinping’s recent centenary birthday speech to warn China that no one can bully India anymore. India is a nuclear power and a force that cannot be ignored in global affairs. With Western allies behind, Japan and Australia are on the side, India should also exert its power to prevent China from trampling everywhere. India cannot allow China to set their conditions and allow His Holiness to move freely within India, even in sensitive areas, such as areas with a long history in Tibet like Arunachal Pradesh.
I think India should wipe out the last remaining cowardice of Nehrus, and once and for all take out the backbone of truth, break the wall of hypocrisy, and declare and recognize Tibet as an independent country. I have always said that if Nehru has a second chance of life, if he is resurrected from the grave, as revenge for his huge moral failure, he will quickly redeem himself by clarifying historical facts once and for all. Tibet has never been China. a part of.
Even in the United States, the bill initiated and amended by Republican Senator Scott Perry last year is making rapid progress. The bill aims to recognize Tibet as a whole, including political Tibet and ethnic Tibet, including all three provinces as an independent country. The meaning, symbolism, and future of the bill go beyond how Tibet can be used as a tool for American self-interest. But this is not the point. This bill may be the first to declare Tibet an independent country for the cause of Tibet and other countries.
If India is to follow suit, this change in India’s Tibet policy towards China will open the floodgates of the Tibet Support Front. So far it is worried that China’s economic strength will follow suit and consolidate this fact, and bring Tibet back to life and Tibet. As a historical buffer to eliminate all borders with China.
This will also help pave the way for a change in the CTA policy, which has been hitting the wall for more than three decades and has fallen into an awkward crossroads, unable to withdraw or advance their middle way policy. If they have been waiting for the perfect tide to change their failed policy, then the culmination of all these changes in wind direction is the best time to take key actions. The new referendum on the use of democratic weapons should give Tibetans the right to conduct public opinion surveys, which will reflect the true wishes of Tibetans in Tibet, based on the painful manifestations of the terrible form of self-immolation. It is impossible for Tibetans in Tibet to want to live with the Chinese, let alone the case of autonomy that the CCP ridiculed. Disconnected from ground reality and CTA’s policy framework, we can no longer ignore the elephant in the room. I really feel that Tibet has evolved from our semi-feudal era with the changes of the times. We should treat the world in our own way, get rid of the old religious obsessions and dogmas, and move forward instead of backwards. This fate is mainly due to our own failure. .
For now, no matter what the wind direction, it seems to be helpful to promote Tibet’s pendulum. We must seize the opportunity and make persistent efforts on this basis. We have nothing to lose. For more than 70 years, Tibet has been sucked to the core, mountains have been moved, and our civilization is on the verge of extinction.
The only purpose of CTA should be to find a way to close and resolve the cause of Tibet as soon as possible! Otherwise, with the unpredictable and political arena set up by our Democratic Party, sometimes I wonder that we even need our government to move further and further away from our cause. Any sport can be continued from the grassroots level, and ours is no exception. CTA must pay attention to the emotions of those Tibetans who are getting more and more impatient. Now they are always lost in endless battles and are now questioning their basic purpose. Wake up before it’s too late. It’s too late! ! !
