Finn will join Chowan in a year’s time as NAIA Judson University’s assistant coach / offensive coordinator.

Before working with Judson, Finn was the offensive coordinator / defenders and broad receivers coach at Independence Community College. Independence is nationally known for the series in the Netflix-award-winning Last Chance U show. The Pirates, while at the ICC, went 8-2 overall and 6-1 at the Kansas Jayhawk Conference on their way to the KJCCC Conference Championship. The pirates ranked in the top ten in the country with yards (426.4) and points / match (38.1) while helping 16 attacking players make Division I grants.

Prior to joining Independence CC, Finnin was an offensive coordinator / offensive line and tight end coach and recruitment coordinator at the Northland Community and the University of Technology. While at NCTC, Finn helped lead the program into the top ten of the NJCAA in six classes. Finn was named GridironRR.com NJCAA Offensive Coordinator of the Year after the pioneers 8-3 overall and 4-0 at the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. Finnini’s efforts led the pioneers to the MCAC Championship, the XIII Regional Championship and the pier at the Red Grange Bowl. Finnin’s offense produced two NJCAA first-team American players at Devonaire Clarington (TE) and Craig Wells (QB).

Finn spent a season at the University of Midland and Dodge City Community College after his collegiate career.

A Cretan citizen began his collegial career in Western Michigan before family issues forced Finnin to play closer to home. Finnin moved to Eastern Illinois before finding a home in the College of Dupage, where he was named an NJCAA All-American in 2013. Finnin would receive more than 35 Division I offers, including Ohio State, Florida State and Oklahoma. Finnin completed his college career at the University of Nebraska, where he graduated with a Bachelor of History degree in 2015.

Frierson arrives in Chowan after spending six seasons as a high school coach at Jack Britt HS in Fayetteville, NC. from 2017-2021. Last season, as Friersons ’defense coordinator, he led the defensive unit, which gave just 6.6 points per race.

Frierson was a four-year member of the North Carolina Central Football Team. As a defensive defender, he saw action in 39 matches, collecting a total of 78 tackles, seven defensive passes and three interruptions.

Frierson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2011. In addition, Frierson recently completed his master’s degree in sports administration in West Carolina.

Marlow joins the staff after spending a season at Lyon College in the same role. Prior to being in Lyon, Marlow served as a defensive back coach and defense coordinator at Gannon. Marlow also served as Pass Knight Coordinator with Golden Knights.

In the 2019 season, Gannon created 22 substitutions, 16 of which were secondary with a defensive touch. Two defensive defenders earned the PSAC Player of the Week award. During the 2018 season, the secondary team created 13 substitutions with one defense and the country’s 32nd-ranked offensive defense (122.6 yards per game). Marlow helped Martell Davis select another team for the All-PSAC selection.

Prior to Gannon, Marlow served as Cornerbacks coach at MacMurray College. Marlow helped with community relations and services for Highland residents.

Prior to MacMurray, Marlow served as an offensive trainee in Saint Vincent after his collegiate career.

While in Saint Vincent as a student-athlete, Marlow spent time as a running back, a wide receiver, and a defensive back. As a freshman, Marlow chaired the Presidential Sports Conference at the shipyards (7.8) and produced 703 courtyards and six touches. Marlow also set a program record with a 93-yard touch against Waynesburg. That season, Marlow was named the offensive MVP for the teams and earned All-PAC honors. Marlow ended his career in Saint Vincent and finished second in all-time suffering in touch, courtyards and total contact.

Marlow graduated from Saint Vincent in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.

IRVING, Texas The American Sports Conference has announced dates, format, and coverage plans for the 2021 Football Media Days, which will be held virtually from 3 to 8 August.

ESPN University football announcers Kris Budden and Rene Ingoglia hosted a two-day event from a top American studio in Irving, Texas. Former Houston quarterback and 1989 Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware and The Americans Morgan Uber provide more coverage and analysis.

Coverage begins Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m., on ESPN + with the American Media Day Pregame Show, a two-hour program that previews the 2021 season with all 11 teams, as well as the best-returning players, with possible breakout stars. and personal interviews with Commissioner Mike Aresco.

On Wednesdays, the show will consist of two programs, 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET, as the head coaches and student athletes of the 11 American teams will participate in the scheduled 25-minute media sessions. Commissioner Aresco will make introductory remarks at the beginning of the morning meeting, and he will also be asked about the media.

East Carolina head coach Mike Houston as well as players Holton Ahlers and JaQuan McMillian are scheduled to appear in the media on Wednesday.

Registered media can participate and ask questions through Zoom, while fans can watch through the ESPN + platform.

American Sports Conference

The former Hertford County High School wide receiver was named to the pre-season university football watch list.

Jaquarii Roberson, the Wake Forest University football team’s wide receiver, was named to the Biletnikoff Award pre-season watch list on Thursday, July 22nd.

After each season, the Biletnikoff Award is given to the best receiver in the NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision) (wide receiver, back, tight head, or slot machine).

Redshirt junior Roberson was also nominated for the Maxwell Award on July 19th.

The Maxwell Prize is awarded to a diverse player in college football after each season.
