Star Wars: Outer Rim Finally Gets Its First Expansion, Unfinished Business

The highly anticipated first expansion for Star Wars: Outer Rim has been unveiled by Fantasy Flight Games, two years after the board game first hit shelves.

Titled Unfinished Business, the upcoming expansion for the Star Wars board game was announced in a very — and I mean all – short teaser trailer at the end of Fantasy Flight Games’ In-Flight Report stream during Gen Con Online 2021.

The video spent roughly the same amount of time acknowledging that since Outer, players have been constantly seeking an expansion of the board game, putting players in the shoes of bounty hunters, smugglers, and other such scum and rogues on the fringes of the Star Wars universe, have asked. In Outer Rim, players will face off against villains and villains such as Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, and Jyn Erso, who must complete various contracts to earn credits and build their fame. Fantasy Flight’s tease for Unfinished Business revealed the expansion’s title and cover, but didn’t stop at explaining what the box will actually bring to the core game. While Outer Rim has generally garnered praise for its gameplay and use of the Star Wars universe, criticism has mostly centered on the limited number of events and maps in the base set – leading to calls for expansion to include replayability shortly after release. and add variety.

Studio head Chris Gerber opened the In-Flight Report by acknowledging that the impact of ongoing shipping delays and rising costs on the tabletop industry meant the publisher declined to confirm precise release dates.
