Syracuse football: According to the report, remote coach Terrence Samuel is leaving for Kansas

The staff changes for the Syracuse Orange football team have apparently not yet been made. After the reported differences between offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert, tight-headed coach Reno Ferris and defensive line coach Vince Reynolds, it looks like Dino Babers now has fourth place to fill.

According to Yahoo’s Pete Thamel report, extensive receiver coach Terrence Samuel is on his way Kansas Jayhawks for the offensive staff position. Samuel arrived just last year to fill the role of coach of an extensive receiver, and while it’s hard to blame hm, the Orange wide also didn’t succeed in his watch in 2021.

Personally, I wouldn’t read too much about this – although some may want to let Samuel leave, which seems to be a side move with KU. It was disappointing for Syracuse, and the surgeries were certainly not involved. Samuel also did not appear to be very involved in the recruitment path. So realistically, it could have been a two-way decision, especially if and when the Jayhawks contacted us.

However, it puts even more pressure on Babers ’ability to get the right employees this offseason. At this point, you are unlikely to be affected by the early signing period, but perhaps the names you import may help the program reach talent before the February signing date and / or assist with some transfers. The new offensive coordinator (whoever he is) could also be interested in hiring his own place for the recipient’s coaching position to best suit his own system.
