LAKE JACKSON, Texas (KTRK) – Three teenagers are now charged with beating a Brazoswood High School student.

The attack is said to have taken place on Friday night at a party. Lake Jackson police said they were called home at Cherrywood Court at about 11:30 p.m. Friday after receiving an emergency call from an unconscious 16-year-old who was bleeding from his ears.

Cole Hagan is still in the intensive care unit, and according to his family, he suffered two skull fractures and a fracture as a result of an alleged attack on the clavicle.

“They left him on the road after he stopped attacking him and then sent a text message to one of his friends who was in the backyard of this house to say, ‘Hey come pick up your son off the street.’ They left him on the street, people who were supposed to be his friends,” Cory Hagan explained. , Cole’s older brother.

Court documents allege that two other teenagers lured Cole out of the party by telling him that his truck had collided. Then 17-year-old Reid Mitchell claimed to hit Cole in the face, hit him in concrete and threw three or four hard elbows, according to a witness. Mitchell is charged with aggravated assault.

The photo states that Mitchell told police that hostility had increased from “the behavior seen by the victim to some of their female acquaintances.”

On Tuesday, Lake Jackson police announced the arrest of two other teens as a result of the incident. Ayden Hollandia, 17, and Logan Huberia, 18, are also charged with aggravated assault.

Police add that the case is still under investigation and anyone with information is advised to contact the Lake Jackson Police Department at 979-415-2700.

“Sadly, I think he’ll have a long time to play football ever again, which was one of his biggest passions,” Cory said.

Cole is a junior at Brazoswood High School, where he played as a broad receiver.

Cole’s family is offering a prize for a video of an event they believe appears to have taken place.

“Presumably there’s a video. So I went to Facebook and said, ‘Hey, I’ll give you $ 1,000 if you bring in a video.’

With the help of the community, the reward is now up to $ 25,000.

In the end, Cory said he wanted the people involved to be held accountable.

“The kids who planned this, the kids who incited this, the kids who had something to do with it, watched it, left him in the way. Yeah, they all have to be punished,” Cory said.

Brazosport ISD is aware of what happened and issued the following statement earlier this week:

We know that a Brazoswood High School student was the victim of another Brazoswood student’s off-campus assault at a Lake Jackson apartment over the weekend. The victim is seriously injured and stays in our thoughts and prayers. The participating student is not on campus. The Lake Jackson Police Department is investigating the case. If additional information is obtained as a result of the investigation, we will take action accordingly. We expect students, staff and the Brazoswood community to come together to help the victim and family. No revenge or intimidation will be tolerated and students will be charged the maximum amount of the law. This event did not take place on campus, but we will have more police and advice for students to help them on campus starting Monday, December 6th.

After calming down and being in a ventilator all weekend, Cole’s family said she can now breathe on her own. According to Cory’s Facebook message, “they lifted him out of bed to take a few steps (Monday).”

Wednesday 8.12. community prayer supervision will be held at Freeport Community Park at 6:30 p.m.
