Manchester United: Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Alex Ferguson reflect on a successful time together

Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Ferguson have come together again for a cordial discussion.

Manchester United released preview of upcoming video interview with Portuguese star and former boss Twitter.

Ferguson talks to Ronaldo about the importance of making a bond with the club and tells the Portuguese, “It’s vital that people understand that you care.”

The Scot behaved like Ronaldo’s father when he brought him with him when he was only 18 years old.

And in the video, it looks like Ronaldo is discussing his heavy relationship with his own father, who died of liver failure in 2005 as a result of a long-term struggle with alcoholism.

“Everything he said to me, he did, and it’s hard,” Ronaldo can be seen saying.

Ferguson promised to acquire Ronaldo after seeing a then-teenager tear apart United in a friendly match against Sporting Lisbon in 2003.

Scot has talked in the past about how he discussed the attack on his behalf with staff and the team on the flight home from that game and completed a £ 12 million change on his behalf soon after.

Ferguson is believed to have played a big role in Ronaldo’s return to United this summer

Ronaldo showed glimpses of his future splendor in his first couple of seasons at Old Trafford before becoming a true superstar in the 2006/07 season, helping United win the first of three consecutive Premier League championships.

Ferguson acted as a mentor and father figure when he brought Ronaldo to United in 2003

Ferguson decided to get Ronaldo home on a plane for a friendly match with Sporting Lisbon, where the Portuguese starred.

He also scored a goal in the 2008 Champions League final against Chelsea, which United won in a penalty shootout in Ferguson’s second European Cup win. Later that year, Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or for the first time.

Ronaldo finally moved to Real Madrid in 2009, a year after the Spaniards first made him, and established himself as one of the best players of all time, creating a compelling competition with Barcelona’s counterpart Lionel Mess.

But he still showed affection for the club in which he made his name, and Ferguson is believed to have played a major role in helping him return to United last summer from Juventus.
