The next batch of Chrome OS devices could be meant for gamers, and at least one of the devices could have a full RGB keyboard, according to a report by 9to5Google on Thursday.

Game streaming services like Google Stadia and Nvidia GeForce Now can run on most Chromebooks, and running full Steam games on devices is the next step. A project codenamed Borealis has been initiated to bring Steam games to Chromebook devices. Neither Google nor Steam have yet scheduled any formal announcements for the launch of Steam games on Chromebook devices.

Part of the code found by 9to5Google within Chrome OS points to Chromebooks that support RGB color keyboards, with each key being customized to create colors across the spectrum. However, it appears that this is only possible via an internal command.

It is not yet known when gaming Chromebooks with RGB keyboards will arrive.
