Cleveland Cavaliers has promoted Shelly Cayette as vice president and commercial director, making her the first black woman to serve on the National Basketball Association (NBA) team in this role.
Cayette joined the franchise in August 2012 as Director of Affiliate Marketing and Strategy. Prior to his most recent promotion, he served as Vice President of Global Partnerships.
In his new role, Cayette will oversee corporate and ticket sales revenue and strategy, corporate partnerships, and youth sports programs and membership sales and services, including premium, group, and individual ticketing platforms.
Cayette’s new data also covers all revenue from corporate partners and ticket sales at Rock Entertainment Group (REG) properties. These include the NBA G League Cleveland Charge, the NBA 2K League Cavs Legion GC and the American Hockey League (AHL) Cleveland Monsters.
“Shelly Cayette is both a game changer and a top manager,” said Nic Barlage, business director at Cleveland Cavaliers and chief operating officer of REG.
“This promotion reflects not only the qualities and success he has created in the business, but also the person he is and how he has impacted so many other members of our organization, our community and our industry.”
Elsewhere, the campaigns continue National Football League (NFL) uplifting Heather Brigham and David Cohen each to the head of the partnership administration. Mike Minnella has also been appointed Business Development Director.
In addition, Cynthia HoganA longtime adviser to U.S. President Joe Biden, will return to work in the NFL as a senior advisor to Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Ironman Group has announced several leadership promotions in the company, including Stefan Petschnig Business Development Director and Matt Wikstrom to the partnership manager. Thomas Veje Olsen has also been promoted to Deputy CEO and appointed new CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to replace Petschnig in this role.
In addition, the Ironman Group promoted Declan Byrne, Ryan Garka, Nick Paskiewicz, Julia Polloreno, Louise Ravenscroft, Stefan Scheuermann, Jeff Taylorand Rebecca Van Pooss vice president.
US network Fox Sports has promoted Mark Silverman to the CEO and the CEO.
