Without Anthony Richardson on the Florida side, this was all Oregon State. Three different Beavers ran for touchdowns and quarterback Ben Gulbranson finished 12-19 for 165 yards and one touchdown.
18. Our Lady (9-4) – Marcus Freeman ended Year 1 with a big bowl. The Fighting Irish knocked off No. 19 South Carolina, 45-38, in the Gator Bowl. Down by two touchdowns after the first 15 minutes, Notre Dame stormed through the Gamecocks in the second half. Tyler Buchner scored five Fighting Irish touchdowns, including a 16-yarder with 98 seconds left to win the game.
19. Mississippi State (9-3) – After the passing of coaching icon Mike Leach, the Bulldogs beat Illinois 19-10 with heavy hearts to win their bowl game. Will Rogers was 29-44 for 261 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Illini. And things ended with a poetic, wild 60-yard return by Marcus Banks as time expired.
20. Troy (12-2) – The Trojans came back from a 12-point halftime deficit to beat UTSA 18-12 in the Cure Bowl. Troy has the first 12-win season in school history. The only team to hold UTSA under 30 points this season was the Texas Longhorns.
