The Islanders are off to an 0-1-1 start on this five-game homestand, with the Bruins and Capitals lurking on the other side of this Saturday night’s matchup in Elmont.
Visiting are the 17-22-3 Montreal Canadiens, who are bottom of the New Atlantic Division and recently snapped a seven-game winless streak. This is the one must get from this Islanders home stretch, so no one is in the mood to hear excuses or moral victories for a good look on a terrible power play or a parade to the penalty box.
It starts early at 7:00, and no line-up/injury changes are expected. Alex Romanov faces his old team, but he doesn’t really think about it:
