Don’t look now but the Stanford basketball team has now won four straight with their most recent win being the best of all.
Just last week the Cardinals narrowly escaped against Chicago State to secure their third straight win, but many of the team’s fans are worried about this underachieving group. They trailed by as many as 12 and lost in the first round.
Their next game is on Saturday night where they play their biggest rival, Cal, who beat the Cardinals by 22 points the last time they met without their top scorer. Things were different this time, as Stanford went into the 11th round and was able to make a fine 19-7 run. Stanford led by as many as 37 points in a replica jersey from 1998 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of a Final Four squad that won 30 games.
Maxime Raynaud led with 15 points, and Harrison Ingram added 14 of his own, with one of them considered a dunk of the year.

As a team, Stanford is defensively locked, holding Cal to just 30% shooting and just five three-shots compared to the last 16 games.
The Cardinals will look to extend their winning streak to five on Thursday when they face Utah (15-8) who beat them by five in the first meeting.
