After being crowned with two of cricket’s most prestigious awards, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam made a grand appearance at the wedding of Umpire Aleem Dar’s sons in Lahore on January 29.
In a video uploaded by ‘Events & Happenings Sports’, Babar is seen arriving at the venue with his friends. And as soon as Babar arrived at the wedding venue, fans started flocking around him for autographs and selfies. A lucky few got them too.
Later, Babar also posed with the bride and groom.

Meanwhile, Azam recently won the ICC Men’s Player of the Year as well as the ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Year for 2022. The award was given for 2,600 runs across the three formats, achieved thanks to eight fifties. plus an innings in nine ODIs. Azam also took Pakistan to the finals of the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup.
On the other hand, Aleem Dar made his umpiring debut in the February 2000 ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in his hometown Gujranwala after playing first-class cricket for over a decade. He has also been part of the ICC Elite Panel for over 16 years.
