Terrel Williams Earns Big East Men’s Track Athlete of the Year Honors; Breaks the school record

STORRS, Conn. – Big East Conference announced Terrell Williams Men’s track athlete of the week on Wednesday.

At Harvard’s Crimson Elite & Multi meet, the junior hurdler set an all-time UConn program indoor record in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing first with a time of 7.71 seconds. Not only is it a personal best and a program record, but it also ranks Williams 12th in the nation.

There was also a remarkable performance in the Big East Joseph O’Brien O’Brien competed in the 200m indoor dash and the 60m indoor dash. In the 200 meters, O’Brien finished with a time of 21.23 seconds, which is first in the conference and 72nd in the nation. Additionally, in the 60-meter dash, O’Brien posted a stellar time of 6.79, the best time in the conference.

Williams and O’Brien will compete next weekend at the Valentine Invite.
