Dress for Success Triangle takes donations on International Women's Day

DURHAM, NC (WTVD) — Dress for Success Triangle has hosted four events with Mobile Boutique since launching late last year.

“The most recent was last Saturday, where we were able to serve 47 people. These are individuals who have a real challenge coming into one of our existing boutiques. So it really expands what we can do for women in the area,” says Executive Director of the Dress for Success Triangle, Heather Dennis.

In 2022, they served 1,500 clients, a figure expected to increase by 2023.

“We love meeting them where they are. So for some women, it may be they need the perfect interview outfit and once they get the job, they get a week’s worth of clothing from us. For other women, they may need some one-on-one coaching with one of our career coaches, who can help them build or revise their resume, can help them prepare for interviews. It can also help them when they are preparing maybe for their one year evaluation or maybe they want to negotiate a salary,” explained Dennis.

As part of Clean Out Your Closet Week, they are holding a donation day at their Wilson location on Thursday, March 16, and at their Raleigh and Durham locations on Saturday, March 18.

“We’ve found consistently that women who come to us lack confidence. It hinders their job search. It may stop them from interviewing for positions or applying for positions that match their qualifications,” says Dennis.
