Actress Felicia Rashad — who played Claire Hostable on The Cosby Show — apologized Friday for a tweet celebrating the overturning of Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction.
“I offer my sincerest apologies. I have since removed that annoying tweet,” she wrote in an email to Howard University students and parents shared by herself on Twitter.
Rashad is the incoming dean of the university’s College of Fine Arts.

On Thursday, the university said its tweet “lacked sensitivity”.
Rashad said in her email that she will “participate in the exercises not only to reinforce the university’s protocol and behavior, but also to learn how I can become a stronger ally of sexual assault survivors.”
