Former President Donald Trump has said he will support anyone who challenges some Republican lawmakers in the next election, all of whom have voted in favor of President Joe Biden’s infrastructure proposal or supported a lawsuit for Steve Bannon.

“Any interest from the good and SMART America First Republican Patriots to run major campaigns against Representatives Tom Rice, John Katko, Don Bacon, Don Young, Fred Upton (accepted the challenge), Andrew Garbarino, Peter Meijer (accepted the challenge) ), David McKinley (challenge accepted), Nancy Mace, Jaime Herrara Buetler (challenge accepted), and Chris Smith? ” Trump wrote in a statement on Saturday. “I will support you.”

Last week, 13 House Republicans, including Bacon, Garbarino, Katko, McKinley, Smith, Upton, and Young joined a majority of Democrats to vote in favor of the $ 1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill.

This is not the first time Trump has threatened to support major Republican challengers who support the infrastructure measure. In July, he vowed “multiple primaries” against anyone who supported the bill after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would support it.

Seventeen Republican Senators also supported the bill.

In his statement on Saturday, Trump also focused on Reps. Anthony Gonzalez, Adam Kinzinger, and Tom Reed, who he said “QUIT that, they’re out of politics, hopefully for good.”

The three also voted in favor of the infrastructure measure.

He also shot Rep. Liz Cheney who she said was a “warmonger,” and Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who she said was “Disaster from Alaska.”

Cheney joined Kinzinger, Meijer, Gonzalez, Upton, Katko, Mace, and Herrera Beutler in voting to take Bannon to criminal contempt in Congress.

Bannon was Trump’s former White House chief strategist and opposed a subpoena from the select committee on Jan. 6 asking him to hand over documents and give testimony about what happened on the day of the deadly unrest.

“Saving America starts with saving the GOP from the RINOs [Republicans in name only], sellouts, and known losers! ”Trump said.

The Insider contacted Murkowski and Rep. Rice, Katko, Bacon, Young, Upton, Garbarino, Meijer, McKinley, Mace, Herrara Buetler, Kinzinger, Cheney, and Gonzalez for comment. Insider cannot reach Rep. Smith and Reed for comment.
