Believe it or not, there are those wondering what’s wrong with LA Rams All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald. What if we told you he had already matched his total tackles from all 2020 NFL seasons? In fact, he is on track to set an overall career-high season for tackles. So where do people get the misconception that Aaron Donald is not as active in this defense?

Part of that is because he is not inconsistent with his pass rush. In recent years, he has been absent for several weeks at a time, but is roaring back with several quarterback sack games that will ensure he still dominates the defense.

This year, he gets to quarterback more often than once every two games. Fans are worried, but the truth is this:

The man continues to be a nightmare to match the offensive coordinators. And while his sudden improvement in tackles hasn’t been praised by NFL analysts or by fans, it’s another part of the All-Pro defender moving forward for his team. So far, he is on track to finish the season with 10 quarterback sacks. While that may not be a career-high, this is the sixth time he has finished with or over 10+ quarterback sacks in eight NFL seasons.

I’m not too worried about Donald’s relatives. He is fully aware that the LA Rams are playing 17 games this season. He also knows how the team needed him in the playoffs last year, and how his injured rib prevented him from delivering as well as he used to.

The LA Rams will face one of the toughest schedules of any NFL team to close out the 2021 NFL season. While Aaron Donald is glowing right now, you can expect him to blaze and play at some point this season. He’s waiting for the right time to show up big. That time is now.
