Modern politics in superpower states-whether in the United States, China or Russia-has become a signal of hardball, winner-take-all, ruthless strategies and tactics, using every vehicle available to dominate. In the American model, political leaders, who have successfully emerged from that crucible and are equipped to govern, must be prepared to fully co-opt the progressive left or be strong enough to fight it, as well as that ready to fight vague, but high. effective, Trump’s political magnetism. The far left leadership of the Democratic Party in the House and Senate has been effective in aligning with and partially joining the radical progressives. Trump has been very effective in building a populist movement to confront and fight both the progressives and the permanent bureaucracy.

Neither the radical path represents good governance or a sustainable long -term direction for America. They are quite separable. Many Americans understand that, and it leaves a centrist path open to any moderate Democrats, Republicans or independents with the political skills, personal strength and resources to fight the radical left, the media , the entrenched bureaucracy and Trump.

Many Americans feel, with some justification, that liberal Democrats appear to have completely corrupted the media and perhaps armed parts of federal justice, national security and, more recently, health agencies. as active weapons of their political agenda. The result began to be felt in a large part of the country as authoritarianism and radical government increased.

But, the left has made the fatal mistake of making its plans and tactics all the more obvious. The trillion dollar infrastructure bill and the $ 1.75 trillion social spending bill (some estimate its true price to be closer to $ 4 trillion) likely represent a disastrous $ 5 trillion in new spending. When combined with the destruction of America’s energy independence and new allowances for states and local governments to subsidize higher spending through higher federal income tax deductions, spending will lead to skyrocketing inflation, more high taxes and interest rates, a slowing economy, higher unemployment and increasing poverty among the middle class and poor – precisely the opposite of what sponsors claim.

They have weakened the economy, destroyed the machinery that creates jobs, undermined national security, and have shown their authoritarian fists in the implementation of their programs. They flooded the country with illegal border crossings, allowed the outbreak of crime and drug deaths, and addressed parents on how to raise and educate their children. They let cities be dumped and burned and ordinary citizens of all races were threatened, beaten and killed.

Re -enter Trump. He has shown himself to be unique among moderate and right-leaning leaders in having populist charisma, personal resources and a single-minded determination to fight, confront and occasionally defeat the progressive left and the entrenched that bureaucracy. But his very flawed style and personal conduct makes him unsatisfactory to the moderates, many conservatives and others who favor decency, kindness, orderly process and personal consideration- regard from the leaders of America. He treats opponents, and often his own staff, with relentless sarcasm and disrespect.

While not ruling as a racist, Trump certainly seems to have used racist “dog whistles” to secure the 2016 Republican nomination and occasionally as president. But many moderates feel he is highly self-appealing and disgusting as he does it all-and is struggling to stomach another, possibly inevitable, Trump round in the White House.

However, the apparent incompetence and radical progressive direction of the Biden administration bleeds reluctant moderates and independents toward Trump as the lesser of two evils. In other words, Biden and the radical left are creating a massive political vacuum in America, which Trump will fill unless a very strong alternative surfaces.

This is not the time for the shy. Trump has become a political colossus and he must face another charismatic leader with personal determination, great political and governance skills, an effective populist message, and personal access to vast resources to deal with powerful blocs. in politics, most of the media, and the permanent bureaucracy. It must be a populist leader with the personal strength to barnstorm America – the “extreme -moderate” oxymoron with the courage, skills and resources to face both Trump and the progressives.
