Regarding Frost’s written introduction to an early Harvard collection, Hall said the piece was “a bit of a dance to the ideas of poetry and aging. The prose is typical of Frost in his great winding,” and “addressed his doubts by promenade them without calling them doubt. And oh, he can make a sentence; he can make a pun and spin his heel on it for a move. ” While one last piece of Frost is “the work of an older man. As I read it now, it speaks to me more than ever.”
