A married Belmont couple in their 80s has been identified by police as the victims of a car crash on Soldier Field Road in Boston Monday evening.
Donald and Jean Houllahan, respectively ages 85 and 83, died at a Boston hospital Monday night after their car was struck as they pulled onto the busy Boston parkway just after 7 pm on Monday, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
Investigators said the couple was turning out of a business parking lot near 1800 Soldiers Field Road when their Acura RDX was hit by an oncoming Infiniti Q50.
Both Houllahans were seriously injured. Donald Houllahan died at the hospital shortly after arriving, state police said. Jean Houllahan died overnight.
Three occupants of the Infiniti were brought to the hospital with serious injuries, though all were expected to survive, police said.
The four-lane road reopened after being fully closed for roughly two hours.
An investigation into the crash is being conducted by the state police.
