Former President Donald Trump is reportedly worried about people in his inner circle wearing wires and having his phones tapped.

What Happened: Trump asked close associates this summer if he was being investigated by federal authorities, RollingStone reported citing people familiar with the matter.

RollingStone’s source said Trump asked if his communications were being monitored by Biden. The source described the former US leader as asking, Do you think our phones have been tapped?

He talked about it seriously [in the past few months]but I know he once joked something like, Be careful what you say on the phone!, the person told Rolling Stone.

Another person close to Trump said the latter wondered if Republicans visiting his clubs might be wearing wires.

Why It Matters: The former president and his advisers are trying to see if there is a mole, or rat in his inner circle, according to the report.

Meanwhile, loyalists are passing their suspicions on Trump, according to an adviser to the former president.
