PHOTOS: Construction Walls Go Up On Donald’s Boat in Mickey’s Toontown

The process of replacing all the artificial turf throughout Mickeys Toontown is still taking place at Disneyland, as the construction walls have moved to an area near Donald’s boat.

Construction Walls Going Up Near Donald’s Boat

The scrim and walls went up in front of Donald’s Boat.

The play area directly in front of Donald’s Boat is unaffected, but the splash pad on the bow of the boat is now hidden behind a scrim.

There’s no refurbishment listed online for this splash pad area, so it’s likely just part of a general refresh of the terrain’s artificial turf.

Just near Donald’s mailbox, a bright blue construction wall and door can be seen.

This serves as the entrance to the small construction site.

The scrim continues on the walkway section between Donald’s Boat and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster.

It is likely that the splash pad area will reopen to visitors once work is completed in this area.

The Reimagined Mickeys Toontown

Mickeys Toontown reopened to Disneyland guests on March 19, 2023 after an extensive reimagining. The land has seen many changes, including an increase in now-under-refurbishment green spaces, quiet areas and other accessibility updates for visitors, a new music loop, and additional shade.

Major land structures, like Mickey and Minnies houses, got a fresh coat of paint in slightly toned-down colors, but were otherwise unchanged. Two new dining locations have also been added to the land.

The land also features meet-and-greets with Mickey and friends, and marks Pete’s debut as a character in the parks.
