Anti-Donald Trump Rape Case Hyperbole No One Is Listening In Many Respects, Donald Trump ‘Broke’ America – Once upon a time, a rape allegation was enough to sink a politician’s career; however, years of partisan attacks against former President Donald Trump that have since been proven unfounded have numbed his base to listen to his accusers.

Examples include the infamous Trump Russia taped Steele Dossier which proved to be a product of Russian disinformation.

Then you have the FBIFD-1023 dossier about Joe Bidens alleged involvement in a plot to fire Ukraine’s attorney general. It offers vindication for a key part of Trump asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into the claim that led to his first impeachment.

Judge Finds Donald Trump’s Rape Denial Without Merit

The alleged incident took place in the mid-1990s in a dressing room at Manhattans Bergdorf Goodman department store; however, the judge in the case said not so fast.

A jury found Trump liable for sexual assault in a decision in May but did not find that he raped Carroll as suggested.

Federal District Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled that the term rape applies only to criminal prosecutions under New York state law in his ruling that denied Trump a new trial.

The jury’s verdict in Carroll II was overwhelmingly in favor of Ms. Carroll. The only point where Ms. Carroll is if she can prove that Mr. Trump raped her within the narrow, technical definition of a specific section of New York Penal Law, according to Kaplan. Forcible, non-consensual penetration of ****** or other body openings by fingers, other body parts, or other articles or materials is not rape under New York Penal Law. Instead, it is labeled as sexual abuse.

Kaplan continued: The discovery that Ms. Carroll’s failure to prove that she was raped within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump raped her as many people commonly understand the word rape.

The judge made his decision in response to a motion by Trump to throw out the $2 million in damages the jury awarded Carroll. She noted that the jury found that Trump groped her with his fingers causing immediate pain and long-term emotional and psychological harm.

He made his decision based on Carrolls testimony during the trial and corroborating testimony by his friends Lisa Birnbach and Carol Martin who testified that Caroll had told them about the incident at the time.

They told him to report it to the police, but he refused.

Kaplan ruled that the testimony offered during the trial met Carolls’ burden of proof to prove that Trump lied when he called his claim about the alleged rape a hoax.

Trump faces a second trial in the first case filed against him by Carroll in January.

But the Kaplan opinion was hardly the top news of the day. This is just one data point of our deeply flawed political moment. Despite that decision, Donald J. A ‘Broken’ America: Hyperbole Makes People Stop Listening

Trumps base looks at deep blue Manhattan and sees a judge and a jury motivated by anti-Trump animus.

The days of impartial justice are over.

If the Democrats treated the sexual indiscretions of people like Bill Clinton and Hunter Biden the way they treat Trump’s alleged sexual indiscretions, maybe people would listen. Because of their hyperbole, no one listens.

Democrats should have remembered the story of the boy who cried wolf. If you cry wolf, people will ignore you when you’re telling the truth if you’re telling the truth. Years of Russian fraud and partisan efforts to demonize Trump have transformed him into a political martyr. Anti-Trump hyperbole only makes him more popular.

Republicans may begin to take the accusations against Trump seriously if Democrats hold themselves to the same standards they hold Trump to. Truth is the first casualty of partisanship.
