Clarksville, TN – Investigators along with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) have arrested a Clarksville man for assault against a first responder and evading crime.
On Sunday, June 20, 2021, approximately 8:00 p.m., representatives of the Stewart County Sheriff Office (SCSO) conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Donald J. Robinson, 40, fled at a brisk speed.
When Robinson crossed into Montgomery County, representatives along with the MCSO provided back-up.
Donald J. Robinson crashed his car after fleeing from law enforcement.
As Robinson continued to evade law enforcement, he fired multiple circles at deputies from his moving vehicle.
A Stewart County Patrol vehicle and a Montgomery County Patrol vehicle were hit by gunfire in the windshield of the vehicle.
He also stopped a Montgomery County unmarked patrol vehicle while being chased.
Robinson later collided with his vehicle at the end of Calvert Drive and after searching MCSOs and SCSO Dep Deputies along with SCSO K9, he was arrested outside a mobile home in the area.

His bond is set at $ 810,000.
No one was injured in this incident. Robinson was taken to a hospital in the area and given medical treatment before being placed in jail.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was shot during the chase.
This is an ongoing investigation.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office vehicle naturally ends up in pursuit.
