SALEM, SC (AP) authorities say a man chased by a South Carolina deputy stopped his pickup truck and fired a rifle at the officer, disabling the police SUV.
Investigators said the Oconee County deputy was not injured and police are still looking for Christopher Lee ODonald who later ran out of his vehicle.
Authorities said the saw’s deputy began chasing ODonald Monday after seeing him act suspiciously in the parking lot of a bank near Salem.
Investigators said ODonald ran away, running at a stop sign and passing cars on double yellow lines.
He then fired the deputies SUVs, shattered the windshield and flattened at least one tire.
