Last week, Brynn Walker (St. David, Pennsylvania) made her first LPGA Tour that began at the Volunteers of America Classic in Dallas, Texas. After missing the cut in the 69-77 round, Walker came into the Donald Ross Classic smarter and with a fresh perspective as he fired a 3-under par 68 to sit out a second tie.

“One thing I learned last week is that a spin is a spin so I keep the pedal on the metal and keep going,” Walker said after carding five birdies in the day. “I think playing there gave me a little bit of confidence that I could do it and even though I didn’t make the cut on the second day, I think it was just a learning experience. The way it was. I play I know I can compete at that level.You just don’t really know what’s going to happen in golf.Sometimes the putts fall and sometimes they don’t so I’ll go out and play tomorrow and I’ll just see what happens and I will enjoy it. “

It certainly helps Walker feel comfortable around a Donald Ross design since he grew up in a similar layout, and will continue to use the positive perspective he brought this week to the rest of the Symetra Tour.

“The course is very similar to the course I grew up playing with a Donald Ross so it was just fun,” Walker said. “I feel like it’s a bit like home so I’ll just try to enjoy it and see what happens.”
