The other new allegation Carlson covered was a report from the right-wing Federalist blog, which said 35,000 votes were illegally cast in the state. Trump presented that report in an interview with Fox News over the weekend, congratulating it more, many times more than we need to win in that state. But the allegation is not that someone did something like submitting a ballot in the name of a deceased person or anything like that. It was 35,000 people who cast ballots from the Georgia provinces where they previously lived rather than the one where they currently reside. If true again, this is not a proven third-party study that it is illegal in the sense that going 67 on a 65 is illegal, not in the sense that you are driving a stolen car. It is also not clear how those people voted. But it serves Georgia’s broad, mixed narrative of allowing illegal ballots to be issued that serves Trump’s broader efforts.
