So I decided to see if there were answers to my questions online.
National Public Radio features a study titled: “Activating Animus: The uniquely Social Roots of Trump Support.”
Professor Lilliana Mason said the study was interested in identifying people who would eventually like Donald Trump but finding them before Trump actually existed on the political scene.
The study typically found that white groups with a racist outlook toward minority groups, in 2011 such as African Americans, Hispanics and Muslims were a strong predictor of Trump supporters in the coming years.
Again, racism and hatred of white minorities is a predictable reason to represent white people who feel this way. I am told that America has always been a racist country, allowing Trump and his team to target and create animus among racial groups to show white groups that he is their man.
He represents the white man / woman of color.
He represents a growing group of white Americans who are afraid of losing strength to people of color.
As Mason said, that is because. . . what we see is a real strengthening of the group these people already have. . . genuine counter-democratic behavior and purpose. And they also really controlled the entire Republican Party. . . not because all Republicans agree with them, but largely because Republicans are afraid of voters who agree with them.
Sad but true.
