Donald Tatsuo Hasuike, 91-years-old, resident of Monterey Park, Calif., Passed away on Jan. 12, 2021, at Huntington Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Donald was born in Burbank, California, on July 13, 1929 to George Susumu Hasuike, one of Southern California’s leading labor operators, and his wife May.

Donald served in the Air Force during the Korean War and received his degree in accounting from USC. He opened a chain of coin-operated laundries, simultaneously owning and operating up to 15 locations. In his free time he enjoys golf, karaoke, and spending time with his family.

He was survived by his wife Hiroko; children Keith (Lia) Hasuike, Julie Hasuike (Kyle Miyatake), April Yamashiro and Neil Hasuike; six grandchildren, Kennedy Hasuike, Trent Hasuike, Shaye Hasuike, Hunter Yamashiro, Matthew Yamashiro, Kelsey Yamashiro, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his siblings Sumiye Burke and Reiko Narike.

A private view will be held at the Fukui Mortuary. A memorial service is planned at a later date.
