Music from South Korean artists has taken the world by storm over the past few years, and more and more musicians from this part of the world have been busy scoring huge chart wins in the United States. Although these victories are perhaps more frequent than they were before. , it’s still remarkable whenever a South Korean musician reaches No. 1 on a Billboard pointing. This week, Jimin, one of seven members of BTS, topped the digital song sales chart for the third consecutive image. He doesn’t debut at number one and he doesn’t climb to No. 1. Instead, he continues to control the throne with his hit single “Like Crazy.”
The superstar’s “Like Crazy” has now held No. 1 on the digital song sales chart for two consecutive frames. According to information shared by Luminate, the track sold just under 14,800 copies in its second week of availability. Although it sold far fewer copies than in its first week, it’s still enough to keep it at #1.
Last week, “Like Crazy” topped the digital song sales charts with over 241,000 copies sold. This still represents the biggest sales sum of 2023, and will likely be for some time. This sum was the largest since Taylor Swift’s “anti-hero” managed tens of thousands more at the end of 2022.
Surprisingly, the success of “Like Crazy” doesn’t even tell the whole story of Jimin’s reign at the top of the digital song charts. Before his current champion made his debut, he still topped the leaderboard. There are two images, Jimin’s other cut, “Set Me Free Pt. 2”, opened first. It was then quickly replaced by “Like Crazy”. This week, “Set Me Free Pt. 2” is at No. 35 on the chart, holding for a third straight round, selling an additional 1,800 copies.
Thanks to its massive first frame sales, “Like Crazy” started at No. 1 on the Hot 100 last week at the same time it arrived on the digital song sales chart. In doing so, Jimin made history as the first South Korean solo act to control what is often considered America’s most important song charts.
