Malaysians can’t stop talking about the avant-garde black dress singer Aina Abdul wore to the red carpet at Top Daily News Stars Saturday’s awards ceremony.

Aina, 28, wore a velvet maxi dress by upscale fashion brand Behati, along with a large rose headdress, and paired it with black high heels. Founded in 2018, Behati is known for its own unique, sometimes whimsical, traditional Malaysian attire.

Designer Tan Kel Wen tells followers that dresses from her Kutior collection are inspired by the 1967 look by Spanish fashion designer Cristbal Balenciaga.

I want to pay homage to the master kutior, as in couture, Cristbal Balenciaga. A look made in 1967, Tan write on Instagram yesterday, added: Rose curtain made of Silk Taffeta 10 meters long from India.

On Twitter, people who reposted photos of Ainas’ fashion-forward look said the outfit was worthy of the Met Gala.

OMG I love Aina Abdul’s fashion. If she goes to the Met Gala, she can rival Rihanna, HafeeziRazikin said.
