Lady Gaga Reveals She Was Wearing a Bulletproof Gown for Biden’s Inauguration

Lady Gaga appears in Late Show to discuss his role in Gucci house, collaborating with Tony Bennett and performing the National Anthem at President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Speaking of the inauguration, Gaga noted, “It was one of the proudest moments I have ever had as a musician and performer. Every player has something that means to them about why they do what they do. For me, I like to make people smile and I have two minutes and thirty seconds to talk to the whole world and I think this might be a good opportunity to sing for everyone. Not just for President Biden’s fans and the people who voted for him, but for the whole world because the world is on fire and everyone deserves love.”

She adds that her dress is bulletproof. “Yeah, there’s a bulletproof vest sewn onto the dress,” Gaga told Colbert. “It was a scary time in this country. I really care about my family and as a player, I understand that I put myself in all kinds of dangerous situations to do what I love. I do that for myself but also for my family, my mother and my father and my sister will feel confident.”

Gaga also discussed her commitment to method acting at Gucci house, out Friday, and his work with Bennett. The duo was nominated for five Grammy Awards, including for Record of the Year for “I Get a Kick Out of You” and Album of the Year for Love for sale.

This couple’s special music, One Night with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, will air on Sundays on CBS and Paramount+. During his appearance in Late Show, Gaga previewed the special with their clip of “Anything Goes.”

Love for sale, featuring Lady Gaga and Bennett through the Cole Porter songbook, was released in October through Columbia Records/Interscope Records. This album marked Bennett’s last studio recording.
