Check out Nigo’s First Capsule for Kenzo

Having been appointed artistic director of Kenzo’s old and eclectic house less than a year ago in the fall of 2021, Nigo keeps the ball rolling. In particular, after the collection debuted for the brand in January, the Japanese designer and DJ has continued to move forward with his first limited edition capsule for Spring/Summer 2022, launching on February 5, 2022.

The collection, which aims to communicate the bold, genderless spirit that Kenzo is known for, is practical and cool. The cut itself is simple, featuring a comfortable silhouette adorned with vibrant boke flowers, traditional Japanese flowers and the new Kenzo logo created by Nigo himself. The navy crew neck sweatshirt, nylon trainer jacket and long sleeve t-shirt with the new logo are the perfect mix between Nigo’s streetwear backdrop and Kenzo’s bold signature color palette. At the same time, Gurkha-inspired cargo pants and skirts highlight the collection’s early promise of practicality in a classic way. Finally, the many scattered white clothes are clean and simple, but significant. As this is Nigo’s first capsule for the brand, its neutral color aptly represents new beginnings.

With this Spring/Summer 2022 collection and now these capsules, Nigo has not only exceeded these expectations, but is also committed to honoring the brand’s past and future. Simply put, the perfect mix of Kenzo staples and Nigo’s streetwear aesthetic in this latest collection has proven itself to be a surprising pair made in fashion heaven.
