Jeremiah Brent Takes Princess Poppy to Her First Fashion Show: Photos

Jeremiah Brent shared a very special moment with him and little girl Nate Berkus.

The home designer, 38, treated daughter Poppy, 7, to a night out at Christian Siriano’s show at New York Fashion Week.

The father and son posed for a black and white photo at the event in which Brent, 38, stands behind Poppy with his hand on his shoulder.

“Poppy’s first fashion week started with @csiriano’s amazing collection, she hasn’t stopped sketching outfit ideas since. xx,” she wrote in a post on Instagram Sunday.

Brent shares Poppy and son Oskar, 4, with Berkus, 51.

While talking to PEOPLE in May about their collaboration with Claritin for The Outsideologist Project a campaign aimed at cultivating a lifelong love of spending time outside a couple which is reflected in how they decide to start a family together.

While Brent initially thought he would never have children “because I’ve never seen as many people as us and families like us with children,” she says that all changed after meeting her now husband, Berkus.

“In 10 minutes, I want to create a life and a family with him,” he explains. “And that was the first time I really believed that we could and I could. He was the first person I felt safe enough to say, ‘OK, we can do this together.’ ”

Elsewhere in the interview, the couple joked about their different parenting styles, noting that they never seem to settle for their children.

“They’re so different, but they’re both the sweetest people we’ve ever met,” said Brent. “We laughed, Nate and I, all the time. I was like, ‘What’s it like growing up with two parents telling you they love you 37 times a day?’ ”

“Actually, Poppy was a born caretaker. She has done this a million times. She is old,” he continued. “And Oskar is like a walking sugar bear, the cuddler. He’s really empathetic and sweet, very sensitive. He’s had enough… He’s a little naughty, that’s okay.”

“But they’re great,” Brent added. “We are very lucky that these great kids chose us.”
